Donation & Refund Policy
1. How donations are used
Voice of Disability NPC is a registered non-profit company. All donations go directly to our programmes and operational costs, which include:
- Running rights clinics and advocacy workshops for disabled women
- Producing accessible materials (plain language, audio, and alternative formats)
- Delivering community programmes, including peer support and skills development
- Operating and maintaining our accessible digital platforms
- Staff and volunteer coordination costs
We are committed to using funds responsibly. As a registered NPC we are required to maintain financial records and accountability in accordance with South African law.
2. Payment processing
Donations are processed securely by PayFast, a South African payment gateway. When you click "Continue to secure payment" you are redirected to PayFast's secure servers. Voice of Disability NPC does not see, store or have access to your card or banking details at any point.
PayFast accepts major credit and debit cards, EFT (instant EFT), Masterpass and other South African payment methods. For PayFast's own terms, visit payfast.co.za/legal.
3. Once-off donations
Once-off donations are processed immediately at the time of payment. You will receive a confirmation email from PayFast once payment is complete. If you provided your email address during the donation process, we will also send you a thank-you acknowledgement.
4. Monthly donations
If you select "Monthly" on the donation form, your chosen amount will be deducted automatically each month on or around the same date as your first payment. You may cancel a monthly donation at any time by emailing us at fadila@voiceofdisability.com. Cancellations received before your next billing date will stop the following deduction.
5. Refund policy
Donations to Voice of Disability NPC are generally non-refundable, as they are committed immediately to our programmes and operational needs. However, we will consider refund requests in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate payment — if you were charged more than once for the same intended donation due to a technical error
- Incorrect amount — if a technical error resulted in a different amount being charged than what you intended
- Unauthorised transaction — if you believe a donation was made using your payment details without your authorisation
To request a refund, email fadila@voiceofdisability.com within 14 days of the transaction date. Please include your name, the amount, the approximate date of payment, and the reason for your request. We will respond within 5 business days.
Approved refunds will be processed back to your original payment method. Processing times depend on your bank and typically take 3–7 business days after we approve the refund.
We reserve the right to decline refund requests that do not meet the above criteria, or where we have reason to believe the request is fraudulent.
6. Tax receipts
Voice of Disability NPC is a registered non-profit company. If you require a receipt for tax purposes, please email us at fadila@voiceofdisability.com with your name, donation amount and date. We will do our best to assist, and recommend consulting a tax professional about the deductibility of donations to NPCs in your specific situation.
